Jetty is an open-source, standards-based, full-featured web server implemented entirely in java. First created in 1995, Jetty has benefitted from input from a vast user community and consistent and focussed development by a stable core of lead developers. In September 2006 Jetty 6 was released - representing a major refactoring of the Jetty code base, combining the best from Jetty�s long history with new API's, techniques and use-cases in order to provide a scalable server for ajax/web 2.0 deployments.
